My aspirations are to become a reporter in the cultural field and produce documentaries, podcasts, or anything involving audio\/visual storytelling. I have a profound interest in people’s stories, literature, history, food and art. I’m also developing a strong interest in environmental journalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I graduated, I have been doing freelance reporting for The New Britain Herald<\/a>, a local newspaper located in Connecticut, for which I pitch and write about cultural events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was a UConn student, I had the chance to intern at People Are Culture<\/a> and Flip The Lens<\/a>, two outlets that focus on cultural reporting. You can find the content I produced in my written work<\/a> and multimedia<\/a> section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my free time, I got involved with UCTV<\/a>, the student-run television, where I was the assistant news director focusing on video editing. I was also involved in the university’s student newspaper, The Daily Campus<\/a>, for which I wrote a few article about subjects I liked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I grew up in France until my 20’s and moved to the United States with my father to complete my studies. I began learning about journalism when I was 15 years old during a short internship at France 3 Midi-Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es<\/a>, a regional television station in my home country. There, I engaged with various news professionals and discovered the many ways of being a journalist. It was quite striking to learn the variety of jobs in journalism, each with their own responsibilities and particular skills sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my free time, I like to go outside and walk. I enjoy reading books with a good cup of tea when the weather becomes dreary, or outside in a comfy chair on warm, sunny days. I also love cats, the smell of books, cooking, watching documentaries and taking pictures of pretty things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
